I am not sure if our hotel will be loud or not but I am a terribly light sleeper. I have to sleep with a fan on at night at home. I do not want to have to lug a fan with me or buy one there just to sleep well. Does anyone have any tips for staying in a hotel if it happens to be too noisy?

You can ask the hotel you plan to stay at, for the room that's away from most traffic and the quietist. You could also ask the hotel if they have any fans on hand, some may have them available for guests to use.

One of the easiest ways is to invest in a comfortable pair of in-ear buds and put an 8-hour fan sound on your phone. If you do not want to use your phone, invest in a cheap MP3 player. I use this when I go anywhere. I don't have to worry about losing sleep.

Thanks for the tips! I didn't think to inquire about a quieter location in the hotel. Making a note of that! I am not sure I would be comfortable sleeping in earbuds or earplugs. I suppose I can try it at home and see how I do.
