Has anyone ever does New Years Eve in LV? It seems like it would be a lot of fun. Is it crazy busy with a lot of traffic? Where's the best place to spend the evening?

The strip is actually closed to traffic from the early evening so it's not bad as far as that goes. I would stay around the hotel you're staying at though because everything else is busy!

Like @gameover mentioned, the Las Vegas blvd is closed from like 5pm until the next day.  It gets pretty crowded both on the vegas strip and in the freemont street / downtown area.  Certainly a better deal than going to NYC for the ball drop.  You get to avoid the super cold weather and there is plenty to do after midnight.

Because a lot of people drink and party on that day, a lot of places are restricted for drivers. The strip itself is PACKED for this reason. I have seen pictures and I wouldn't want to be in Vegas for this holiday.
