Planning out my first trip and trying to decide if I need a car or not. This would factor into my overall budget. I am not sure how much rentals even cost either. I just want to know if this is something I will need to get around or if I will be fine without it. Does anyone know?
It depends on what you want to do. If you can find a hotel in the main area, and stick to that area, you probably won't need transport, but if you're traveling all around Vegas, I would recommend getting a rental car or find some kind of transport. You will probably end up needing to use transport of some kind. If you don't want to go the route of a rental car, I'm sure there are cabs and Ubers that can take you where you need to go.
Yeah if you're staying in a hotel near the action, you could walk from your hotel to the attractions. But, if you want to see more of Vegas and the surrounding areas, you will want to get a rental car or spring for an uber or lyft.
I would not rent a car if you don't need to because many of the casinos charge for parking and driving on the strip is pretty difficult with all of the pedestrians.
