Planning for my winter visit soon and I've been watching the news on Omicron. I saw sports leagues like the NHL and NFL postponed games for a week because of Omicron. Wanted to know if anyone heard anything about casinos being closed like back in 2020.
As far as I know, there have not been any outbreaks in any of the hotels in Vegas. I wouldn't worry too much about it. The outbreaks tend to happen among close contact groups of fully vaccinated people. They believe that because the anti-bodies from the vaccines wear off over time, it has made people more susceptible to the latest variant which makes sense.
They won't close anything down at this point. They will lose too much money. It seems like this variant is causing more issues for vaccinated people and I am not sure why. Could be fake news leaking through but who knows. I don't think we will know the full truth about any of this for several more years. Just wash your hands, wear your mask, and keep away from people you don't know.
If they don't have to close, they won't. This is Vegas. They rely on staying open of the place can go belly-up fast. I remember reading an article years ago that if a major Casino/Hotel in Vegas was shut down for just two weeks, they would be facing bankruptcy.

That is what I was thinking. They lost a lot of money in 2020 they are still trying to make up for. If they don't have to close, they won't. Covid carriers or not!
