I'm wondering if there's an advantage to checking in online versus in at the desk at the Wynn? Any suggestions appreciated!

Online check-in through the app helps if there is a convention in town and you know there will be a long wait. Also, depending on the hotel (I haven't stayed at Wynn BTW) you can pick the room.
