Give the different things in Vegas that are kid-friendly and the general amount of walking, traveling, eating out, etc. what age would you say is best (as a minimum) for kids to tag along for a trip to Vegas?
I think this depends on the kids. Some kids do fine traveling from a young age, some don't. I think 10 is a good safe number. Las Vegas is very busy and very crowded, and you have to do a lot of moving around and walking. Not many younger kids are up to that.
I would say 10 to 12 depending on the kid. While Vegas is a lot more kid-friendly today, it is still a lot to take in. I mean I still get overwhelmed at times when I am in a busier place.
In the 1990s there was a push to have family offerings and casinos like Circus Circus & Excalibur became popular. Now I think Las Vegas has moved away from the family offerings and focuses more on couples, groups of friends, and conventions. Given that change I would say that it would be difficult to bring anyone under 21 to Las Vegas. They would not be allowed on the casino floor, can not go into bars / nightclubs, and some shows also have age restrictions.
My 12 year old had a cheer competition and she had a blast when we went. We made sure to plan some kid friendly activities which worked out great. We did the high roller, the coaster in New York, New York and walked around the forum in Caesars. I would say anything less than 12 would be tough to navigate though!
