Airline prices were up for the 4th of July.  I am thinking about visiting to see the fireworks, etc.  Has anyone ever stayed off the strip during the 4th of July weekend?  I heard that ubers were difficult to get.  I was considering Palace Station or Rio.

I have never been there around this holiday to know anything about it. I tend to avoid travel in June, July, and August since most places are at their most expensive. I did find some information for you that might be useful:

Things you should know about 4th of July in Las Vegas
4th of July 2021 falls on a Sunday. Expect the parties to start on Friday and last through the weekend.

The 2021 Las Vegas 4th of July marks the first time the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) will present a firework show on the Fourth of July.

The Vegas Strip will be crowded all evening with thousands of tourists and local residents looking for a 4th of July holiday celebration.

Everything will be open. I mean everything. shops, casinos, bars, restaurants, attractions. You name it, it will be open on Independence day.

July 4th is summer time in Las Vegas, so expect daily temperature to hit the 100 degrees mark. Dress accordingly and drink lots of water.

Every bar and restaurant will have drink specials and dining specials

If you plan on riding the buses, note that RTC Transit will operate Sunday schedule on Independence Day July 4

With that said, if Las Vegas is beckoning you this coming fourth of July, here are a few things to put on your to do list. You'll also find lots of resources and some money saving tips on this site while planning your independence day in Las Vegas.

There are also firework dates and event things here: https://www.lasvegashowto.com/july-fourth-in-las-vegas

I don't like going during holidays, as they always are packed to the brim with people. July 4th is especially big due to the fireworks. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see what Vegas has to offer for the 4th, but it's just too much of a sensory overload for me.

Yeah it will for sure be packed. Anytime during the holidays and in Vegas, you're bound to find it being a bit crowded.

The three holidays that seem to always attract crowds to Las Vegas are Memorial Day, New Years Eve, and the 4th of July.  Hotel prices always scale up on those dates
